Auditioning to see stars, big break at 30: Jodi Sta. Maria looks back on early showbiz days

Actress Jodi Sta. Maria said it was her desire to see actors in real life that motivated her to audition for roles in the first place. Except, she got more than she bargained for, as she did not just see actors, but ended up working with some of them.
“Naging motivation ko para mag-audition ay ang makakita ng artista — at nangyari nga. Nakatrabaho ko pa sila (My mtotivation to audition was to see artists — and it happened. I even ended up working with them),” Sta. Maria said via Instagram on May 18. “There are no shortcuts to being successful.”
Sta. Maria looked back on her early days in show business and remembered how the many struggles she faced left her feeling unworthy. “But always remember this: Life wont always give you the best case scenario. Everything you experience is preparing you to set better and bigger goals for yourself. “

She also said it is never too late for one to dream, sharing to her fans how she only got her big break at 30 years old.
“I’m a mom of a 13 y/o, who got her big break at 30, now studying Psychology at 36…” she said. “And who knows what I’ll be doing in my 40s or 50s?”
Sta. Maria added that a person can wear themselves out with many undertakings, but it would all be for naught if the Lord is not at the center of what they do. In the end, she encouraged her fans to keep the hope alive.
“Don’t lose hope,” she said. “We are all students of life and we never stop learning.” JB
