Chavit Singson helps single mom with kid’s college fees in charity show
Senatorial aspirant Chavit Singson hosted a heartwarming Facebook Live event on Christmas Day for his raffle series, “58 Days, Milyon-Milyong Pa-Premyo.” Joined by hosts CJ Hirro and Jourdan Sebastian, the special became an unforgettable moment of generosity and compassion.
The highlight of the event came when Shirley Rey, a single mother of two, was drawn as the winner of the P58,000 x2 prize, totaling P116,000. Overwhelmed with emotion, Shirley shared her plans for the money when asked by the hosts. “Actually po, naiiyak ako. Kailangan ko talaga kasi may tour ‘yung bunso ko this coming 2025. Tourism student po siya,” she said.
Moved by her sincerity, Singson asked, “Anong problema mo? ‘Yung pag-aaral ng anak mo?” Shirley explained that while her eldest child was already working, she still needed financial support for her youngest child, who has two years left in college.
Without hesitation, Singson offered to help. “So, P80,000 pa? Okay, magkano panalo mo ngayon?” After confirming her prize of P116,000, he made a remarkable decision: “Dadagdagan ko ng P80,000 ‘yan premyo mo!” But he didn’t stop there.
To simplify matters, he generously rounded up the total to P200,000. “Wala ka nang problema sa pag-aaral ng anak mo ngayon,” he assured her, as Shirley cried tears of joy.
