Sofronio Vasquez to return to PH ‘very soon’
“The Voice” United States Season 26 winner Sofronio Vasquez drew excitement among fans after he teased coming home to the Philippines “very soon.”
“Coming home to [the Philippines] very soon. Takits!” he said on his Facebook page on Friday, Dec. 27.
The New York-based Filipino singer did not immediately disclose the exact date of his arrival in the country as well as further details of his visit, although he hinted at returning to Philippines on Jan. 5 in an earlier interview on “The Pod Network.”
Vasquez is the first Asian to have won the international singing competition. He was under the team of show coach Michael Bublé, who underscored that the Filipino singer’s win is about “representation.”

Vasquez joined for the third time in 2019 as part of the “TNT All-Star Grand Resbak” contestants, and finished as a grand finalist.
“Proud po ako na nagsimula ako sa ‘Tawag ng Tanghalan,’ kasi ‘Tawag ng Tanghalan’ at ‘It’s Showtime’ ang unang nagtiwala sa akin,” he stated in a virtual interview in the ABS-CBN noontime show.
