Actresses behind ‘GoT’ foes talk about ‘that day’
It was an intense “Game of Thrones” scene that neither Lena Headey or Nathalie Emmanuel will soon forget. (Spoilers ahead.)
In the fourth episode of the final season, the interpreter Missandei (Emmanuel), captured by enemy forces loyal to Queen Cersei (Headey), met her doom in gruesome fashion.
Defiant to the end, Missandei was publicly killed by smug Cersei’s executioner.
Emmanuel tweeted on her character’s shocking death, “Can I just say the response after Missandei’s demise has been overwhelming… Honestly, I was calm about the whole thing, but the outpouring of love, anger [and] sadness has left me all in my feelings.”
In an Instagram post about her tragic exit, Emmanuel expressed gratitude: “Thank you for all the love and support… It’s been a pleasure playing her for you.”
