Filipino Jej Vinson misses ‘The Voice US’ Top 8
MANILA, Philippines – Filipino singer Jej Vinson capped off his “The Voice US” journey after failing to get a spot in the Top 8.
Part of Kelly Clarkson’s team, Vinson’s last performance in the show was his rendition of Nick Jonas and Tove Lo’s song “Close.”
In a tweet on Wednesday, Vinson expressed his gratitude to Clarkson and his fans for their support.
“I’m feeling so grateful rn. @kelly_clarkson you are the best coach that I’ve ever had, and I will take what I’ve learned from you with me forever. Thank you for believing in me,” Vinson wrote.
“To all my fans, family, and friends, I love you guys so much. Thank you for supporting me tirelessly,” he added.

Despite falling short in the show’s Top 8, Vinson remained positive for being able to sing in front of many people.
“I don’t want anyone to be sad because to be honest I’m just happy that I’m able to sing in front of millions. I’m an artist. I have music coming. I will keep working my butt off. I hope you guys keep supporting me,” Vinson said.

Those who made the cut were Maelyn Jarmon and Shawn Sounds from John Legend’s team, Dexter Roberts, Gyth Rigdon, Carter Lloyd Horne, Andrew Sevener and Kim Cherry from Blake Shelton’s team and Rod Stokes from Clarkson’s team.
No one from Adam Levine’s team made it to the Top 8.
Vinson received a four-chair turn when he performed Drake’s song “Passionfruit” during his blind audition in the show last March. /gsg
