Alex Rodriguez remembered how he popped the question to pop superstar Jennifer Lopez in a “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” guesting, which aired Tuesday night, April 16.

The former Yankee shortstop said he was both “nervous and excited” when he was about to propose to Lopez while they were in a beach in the Bahamas.

He added that aside from the planning which took “about six months,” he rehearsed “three days in a row” for the actual proposal day, because he wanted “the sunset to be perfect” when he got down on one knee.

When host Jimmy Fallon asked if he rehearsed by himself, Rodriguez replied that his assistant Ashley was with him. Fallon laughed at the thought and asked the baseball star: “So you proposed to your assistant three times?”

The host then showed a photo of Rodriguez proposing to Lopez. Fallon noticed that the former baseball player was wearing his own World Series ring.

“That’s almost as big as the one you gave Jennifer,” Fallon remarked. “Man, that made the sun shine for like four days.”

Rodriguez admitted that he had worn the ring for “probably a handful of times,” adding that he wore it during the proposal because he considered it as a “big moment.”

Lopez got engaged to Rodriguez in March after two years of dating. JB
