Jimmy Kimmel assembled the all-star “Avengers” cast to read his retelling of “Avengers: Infinity War” as a children’s book.
“The last Avengers movie was surprisingly dramatic,” the television host said about the previous movie in a “Jimmy Kimmel Live” episode aired Monday night, April 8, in the United States. “[A]nd while children love superheroes, I’m not so sure how they feel about intergalactic genocide.”
Mark Ruffalo first introduced the children’s book, which was titled “‘Twas the Mad Titan Thanos.” His co-stars Scarlett Johansson, Don Cheadle, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner and Chris Evans took turns to read the story.
At one point, all cast members blamed Hemsworth’s character Thor, who was fearless in attempting to defeat Thanos. And although he was reading a children’s book, Ruffalo did not seem to calm his emotions and let out: “F*cking Thor!”
“They really should’ve just called me,” Renner said, whose character Hawkeye did not appear in the film. “We could’ve got this done real quick. You know what I mean?”
In the end, Ruffalo teased that the Avengers have a few more tricks to defeat Thanos—with him teasing how it will all go down when “Avengers: Endgame” releases in U.S. theaters on “April two-six ” (April 24 in Philippine theaters). NVG
