Miss Congeniality isn’t all that affable
She’s known for her sunshiny demeanor and “quotable” candor, but Chatty Kin isn’t all that chummy away from the glare of Tinseltown’s klieg lights. Our mole, an Out-of-Towner who occasionally dabbles in acting, was surprised to find out that not even relatives can take CK’s self-absorbed ways.
OT was around when her influential best friend, Generous Charmer, was invited to grace a talk show. OT ended up sitting outside the dressing room of CK, who was getting dolled up for another segment.
Knowing that GC and CK are related, OT plucked up the courage to say hello to CK and smiled. She thought, “If my friend is known for kindness, CK can’t be that bad, can she?” To OT’s dismay, CK responded by frowning, then ordered a subservient assistant to close the dressing room door on OT’s face.
“You know what CK just did to me?” OT complained to GC. “That creature is rude!” But GC just quipped, “We’re not close.” “That explains it,” OT thought to herself.
