Based on fellow passengers’ social media posts, the “John Wick” star was on a flight from San Francisco to Burbank when it made an emergency landing to Bakersfield.

Instagram Stories from New York Times illustrator Brian Rea (@freebrianrea) documented the trip and Reeves’ whereabouts. Rea described the actor as “very pleasant” as he took pictures with those in the flight and chatted with the flight crew.

One lucky fan who got a snap with the “Matrix” actor was Amir Blum, who said, “That time when your flight out from [Game Developers Conference in San Francisco] almost crashes and you have to emergency land in a remote airport but at least Keanu Reeves is having as bad a day as you are.”

As transportation was being settled among the stranded passengers, the actor was among those active in the discussion. Rea’s Instagram Stories showed Reeves calmly explaining the option of taking a van and what would happen to their luggage.

A trip via van turned out to be faster, and Reeves wound up joining the road trip to Los Angeles. In the vehicle, he regaled passengers with random facts about Bakersfield and played original country music from Bakersfield on his phone.

Rea said of the trip on Instagram, “I don’t have anything to add other than that all the passengers were incredibly kind and lovely people, including the folks who took care of us in Bakersfield, CA.”

Next time there is a bump in your travels, just think, “What would Keanu Reeves do?”  /ra
