Chesca Garcia begins IVF procedure for baby No. 4
Chesca Garcia has started on her in vitro fertilization (IVF) procedure after husband Philippine Basketball Association cager Doug Kramer revealed last February their plan to get pregnant again.
Chesca took to social media recently where she shared with her fans a video of her getting her first injection for the procedure. The doctor demonstrated the steps to Doug, who watched on beside Chesca.
“With the IVF procedure. This is the first injection of 9 – 10 more!” she wrote via Instagram on March 6. “Most will be done by Doug at home! So happy we can do this here in our country!”

With the IVF procedure. This is the first injection of 9 – 10 more! Most will be done by Doug at home! So happy we can do this here in our country! Based on the calendar, after the series of injections, harvesting will be done in the next few weeks and then April 2 or 3, the pregnancy test! Oh my! Keep praying for me! It's not a sure shot yet, but we will keep pushing for baby no. 4 or even 5! Exciting time for the next chapter for our family! New home soon and praying for the pregnancy!
According to her post, her eggs will be harvested in the next few weeks and she has to take a pregnancy test on April 2 or 3.
“Keep praying for me! It’s not a sure shot yet, but we will keep pushing for baby no. 4 or even 5!” she said. “Exciting time for the next chapter for our family! New home soon and praying for the pregnancy!”
The husband and wife shared updates about the construction of their massive home last January and what better addition to a new home than another baby?
Doug, on his end, took to his own Instagram today, March 7, to document the second day of Chesca’s injections. The cager confessed it was his first time to ever inject a person in his life and was grateful that the doctor instructed him how to do it properly.
The couple decided to share about their IVF journey after moms and couples who have been trying for a baby reached out to them. As per Doug, they considered IVF because of Chesca’s ligation.
“So glad to show awareness that there is a solution for still having a baby despite circumstances,” he said. “We have different reasons, but for us, it’s because of Chesca’s ligation.”

Day 2 of injections of IVF stimulation for Chesca! After cleaning and disinfecting the area, it was the very first time I've ever injected a person in my life! 😂 But good thing our Dr. instructed us properly how to go about it! . We decided to share more about our IVF journey since so many moms and couples reached out to us about trying to have a baby since it's been hard for them. So happy to read of so many successful stories, and having twins! Read all the comments and thank you so much for the encouragement! It's not gonna be an easy one, and it might take a few tries but we're gonna keep on pressing till baby no. 4 and maybe, even no. 5! God's will be done! . Some have even asked for an official hashtag so they can keep track! So here it is! #TeamKramerIVFJourney . Thank you Scarlett for talking a video of papa and mama! Mwah!
Doug shared back in February that Chesca got ligated after getting pregnant for almost two straight years.
“Scarlett and Gavin took a toll [on] Chesca’s body so we decided to have her ligated,” he said then. “But it’s been 6 years and we did the necessary steps to check if her body is ready and healthy now.”
At present, the couple has three children: 9-year-old Kendra, 7-year-old Scarlett and 6-year-old Gavin. /ra
