WATCH: Jodi Sta. Maria hunted by a child killer in ‘Second Coming’

Although it is still a very long way to go before Halloween, Jodi Sta. Maria and Marvin Agustin are bent on scaring viewers with their new horror movie.

In “Second Coming”, the two will play a couple who experience the supernatural right in their home, as seen in the trailer released last Friday, Feb. 8.

Sta. Maria takes on the role of a stepmother who moves in the home of her husband, played by Agustin. There, she is welcomed by haunting experiences through her stepdaughter, Imee, who appears to have been possessed.

Agustin said in an Instagram post last Feb. 4 that the movie is another blessing for him this year, further revealing that he shot scenes for the film two years ago.

So why did it take so long for the film to be put out? The movie’s director, Jet Leyco, said in an exclusive interview with Push that they had to consider the schedules of their actors for the film, as well as other production matters like editing.

“Ang maganda rito, while in the process, nagkaroon ako ng additional shoot ‘cause I think there’s more pa ‘yung story na pwede i-explore,” Leyco said in the report.

(What’s good about this is we had additional shoots, because I think there is more to the story that we can explore.)

“Second Coming” will be released under Reality Entertainment, and will hit theaters on Feb. 27. Katrina Hallare/JB
