Bianca Lapus revealed she had given birth to her fourth son “a little [earlier] than [she] thought” due to a medical condition.
The actress stated on an Instagram post Friday, Feb. 8, that her baby boy, named Ethan, is on his twentieth day at the neonatal intensive care unit of the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay (UERM) Medical Hospital in Quezon City.
She explained to fans and followers that she has not been updating her social media pages because she has been “in pain and going through [an] emotional roller coaster.” But she expressed her gratitude to them for showering her and her son with love and support.
Lapus also told them that she will soon be sharing photos of her journey, in hopes that it will bring awareness to her condition called preeclampsia.
Preeclampsia, according to the Preeclampsia Foundation, “is a rapidly progressive condition characterized by high blood pressure and usually the presence of protein in the urine.” It occurs during pregnancy and the postpartum period; it can affect both the mom and the unborn child.
“It feels like [I’m] a 1st time [mom] all over again though he is my 4th son,” she said in enthusiasm about giving birth to Ethan.
The actress was also thankful to her husband Jimmy Velasquez.
“I can never thank you enough for standing by me, just holding my hand & praying we will get through this.” she told him. “I love you so much. Thank you for making my dream come true…for giving me an intact [family].”
And in another post, Lapus expressed her continuing hope, saying, “Look for something [p]ositive in every day. Even if some days you have to look a little harder.”
Lapus has two other sons with Velasquez, Elijah Lawrence and Exequiel Lawrence. Meanwhile, her eldest Isaiah, is her child from her previous marriage to “It’s Showtime” host Vhong Navarro. JB
