Fiona Apple has joined forces with rising singer-songwriter King Princess to record a new version of her song “I Know” which was first released in 1999.

Apple included “I Know” on her 1999 album “When the Pawn…, “and it’s been resurrected for this fresh, Spotify-exclusive version that she recorded alongside fellow United States singer-songwriter King Princess.

The 20-year-old King Princess, who made the BBC Sound of 2019 longlist, dropped her debut EP, “Make My Bed”, in 2018, followed up just before year-end by the standalone track “Pussy is God”.

FEATURED STORIES

Fiona Apple’s own most recent album dates back to 2012, and while she has yet to give any hint of another album on the way, she did gives fans a glimmer of hope last year that new music might be on the way.

When asked, “Any new music?” last April in a Q&A organized by the Tumblr fans site Fiona Apple Rocks, she replied simply, “Yup.” JB
