‘Bato’ biopic, top billed by Robin Padilla, slated for showing in cinemas on Jan. 30
Action star Robin Padilla recently revealed to his fans the release date of “Bato: The Gen. Ronald dela Rosa Story”—the biopic of former Philippine National Police chief Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, which Padilla will be top billing.
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) recently warned that biopics of candidates shown during the election campaign period will be prosecuted for violation of election laws.
The movie’s nationwide release on Jan. 30, however, comes ahead of the scheduled campaign period for senators and party-list groups in the 2019 elections, which begins on Feb. 12. Dela Rosa is gunning for a Senate seat in the May 13 elections.
Padilla shared a poster of the biopic via Instagram yesterday, Jan. 21, with actress Beauty Gonzalez as his wife in the movie.
“Bato Bato sa Langit ang tamaan wag magalit!” quipped Padilla.
