Ria Atayde cries foul over people crediting Arjo Atayde’s success to Maine Mendoza
MANILA, Philippines — Actress Ria Atayde got emotional as she defended her brother Arjo Atayde from people who say his successes have to do with Maine Mendoza.
“A lot of people, sinasabi that his successes now have to do with her and I’m like, that’s so unfair,” Ria said in an interview at “Tonight With Boy Abunda” on Monday.
This was Ria’s response when host Boy Abunda asked about her reaction to people who disagree to the friendship of Arjo and Maine.
“He’s worked so hard to get where he is. And to discredit his work? Wow ha. Not fair at all,” she said,
The 26-year-old actress added: “At the end of the day, I keep saying, you know, it’s their lives. I get that we’re public figures but let us own our lives naman.”
Arjo and Mendoza were rumored to be dating after photos of them together surfaced online. But previous reports say Mendoza already clarified that she and Arjo are just friends.
Meanwhile, Mendoza has defended the celebrity siblings from a netizen who accused the two of using her name to get projects.
“They get projects because of their talent, not because of any other reasons. Once and for all let’s give credit to whom its due,” Mendoza said in a tweet over the weekend. /muf
