For some, debuts mark a turning point in a young woman’s life. It could be said then that pre-debut photo shoots reflect the kind of woman a girl wants to be.
Frankie Pangilinan, who will turn 18 on Dec. 16, shunned designer gowns for sleek, all-black ensembles in her own pre-debut photo session.
In one set of photos, the soon-to-be debutante is seen in a bare room with unpainted walls, concrete floors and large windows. She sits on a black chair in trousers, a blazer and ankle-strap stilettos, gazing coolly at the camera in a classic red lip and tousled wavy hair.
Another set of photos are in black-and-white, taken in a studio with a dark background. The only color that pops is from the red roses in her arms.
One photo shows a more daring side to Pangilinan: She stands tall on a wooden bench, confident in a black cropped halter top and a peplum skirt accessorized with a wide-brimmed hat.
According to a Dec. 6 Instagram post by Rabbit Hole Creatives, Pangilinan did the shoot with Amy Winehouse’s music blaring in the background. It seems fitting as the late singer is known for her eclectic and soulful music.
“Frankie Pangilinan is an enigma. She is a force waiting to be discovered. Yet she doesn’t need anyone,” the caption said. “Frankie moves in her own skin.” JB
