WATCH: Robin Padilla receives birthday greeting from ‘good friend’ President Duterte
Not everybody can say they are chums with the President, but Robin Padilla sure can. Padilla marked his 49th birthday last Nov. 23, a momentous event made even sweeter when his good friend President Rodrigo Duterte sent a personal birthday greeting his way.
Padilla took to his Instagram today, Nov. 26, where he shared the video of Duterte’s greeting as well as other scenes from his birthday celebration, one of which is a photo of him holding a cake while doing a fist pose with Special Assistant to the President Bong Go.
In the video greeting, Duterte can be seen sitting inside a plane where he wished the action star a happy birthday. He also expressed his gratitude for their friendship.
“Today marks a very special day… You’ll celebrate another year filled with days of chances and opportunities. I hope that the days of your life would be filled with goodness…” Duterte told Padilla.
“May you be blessed with all the the wonderful things in life my good friend, Robin Padilla,” Duterte added. “Happy birthday and salamat sa pakikiibigan [sic] natin, thank you for your friendship.”

“Ito na atang pagdiriwang na ito ang pinakamasaya sa lahat ng aking birthday Allah hu akbar,” Padilla wrote. “Hanggang ngayon ay maliwanag pa rin sa aking isipan ang ngiti ng aking Mahal na INA at ang mga malaking tawa ng aking apo na si Alas at ang napakagandang mga mata ng aking apo na si Mustazina.”
(I think this celebration is the happiest of all my birthdays, Allah. To this day, my dear mother’s smile is still clear in my mind, along with the big laughter of my grandson Alas, and the beautiful eyes of my granddaughter Mustazina.)
“Mabuhay po kayo Mahal na Pangulo RRD at Heneral BG,” he added. “Mabuhay po tayong lahat!”

Meanwhile, Padilla’s wife Mariel Rodriguez and daughters Kylie and Queenie have since taken to social media last Nov. 23 where they wrote him heartfelt dedications for his special day. JB
