The grouchy spork named Forky joins Woody, Buzz Lightyear and other original characters in the upcoming Disney-Pixar movie.
The teaser opens with the original toys — Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Jessie, Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head, Rex the Dinosaur, Hamm the Piggy Bank, Slinky the Dog and a Little Green Man alien — holding hands in a circle as Judy Collins’ cover of Joni Mitchell’s “Both Sides Now” plays.
But there’s a new toy in the group — a spork-turned-craft-project called Forky — and he isn’t at all happy about it. He shouts “I don’t belong here!” and tries to leave the circle, making the other characters collide with each other and fall.
The voice cast includes Tom Hanks as Woody, Tim Allen as Buzz, Joan Cusack as Jessie as well as Don Rickles and Estelle Harris as the Potato Heads. Tony Hale voices Forky.
Disney and Pixar’s “Toy Story 4” opens on June 19, 2019, 24 years after the original “Toy Story,” the first fully computer-animated feature film and the highest-grossing movie of 1995.
Two sequels were released in 1999 and 2010. KM
