Talent manager Lolit Solis lambasted singer Moira Dela Torre for denying knowledge of the Marcos Fest held in commemoration of the 101st birth anniversary of former President Ferdinand Marcos on Sept. 11 in Laoag, Ilocos Norte. She also wondered why sticking with the Marcoses is considered a great sin by many.

Solis criticized Dela Torre, who she asserted she personally is not acquainted with, for denying knowledge of the concert’s real name and purpose, via Instagram yesterday, Nov. 7. She questioned why the singer appeared to be embarrassed that she agreed to sing for a Marcos event and that she was affiliated with the Marcoses.

(I do not know if this is a case of an ignorant person who does one thing and receives compensation but s/he does not [know the nature of his/her work]. Does [the Marcos Fest and Dela Torre] not have a contract together? Was Dela Torre just given money?)

(And why are you denying like you are extremely disgusted? Why? I do not know why you have to explain or deny. You are a singer, your services were acquired, no matter who the affair was for. That was not a political rally and neither was it an endorsement for the Marcoses, so why the denials?)

Solis stated that she does not see why the news of Vice Ganda being on the same flight with Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos became an issue. She noted that political affiliation, color and beliefs should not hinder one in performing his/her job.

(It’s like it’s a great sin to be close to the Marcoses. I hope they will not forget that the Heart Center, Kidney Center, Lung Center, CCP and PICC were built during the time of Marcos.)

Solis ended her tirade hoping she will meet Moira.

Solis quipped.

(And I hope, because of Moira’s denial, I will be acquainted with her and I hope she will not be disgusted that she knows me [laughs]. What do you think Salve?) JB
