Vice Ganda on photo with Imee Marcos: ‘Di ako endorser ng mga Marcos!’

Vice Ganda was compelled to explain to his fans recently after a picture of him with Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos circulated in the recesses of social media over the weekend.
In the picture, Vice Ganda can be seen walking alongside Imee Marcos in what appeared to be the airport of Ozamiz city. Vice Ganda wore an all-black getup, while Marcos wore a red jacket over her plaid top. Both had leis adorning their neck. The photo was shared on Twitter on Sunday, Oct. 21, by the “Study of RM” account.
“Bakit kaya balot na balot si Momshie @vicegandako kasama si Mareng Imee Marcos sa Ozamis City???” the account wrote. “The down fall of the unkavogable star! Oh I forgot Vice and Bongbong history back in 2014.”

Vice Ganda, on his end, took to Twitter the following day, Oct. 22, to clear the air.
“May mga taong ginagalit ang mga sarili nila dahil sa kasinungalingang pinaniniwalaan nila na sila lang din naman ang may likha!” Vice Ganda tweeted.

He shared in another tweet that he didn’t care what Marcos’ itinerary was in Ozamiz city, clarifying that they just happened to be on the same flight.
“Ok para sa mga fans ko na nagtatanong. Wala akong pakelam kung anong iteniraryo ni Imee Marcos sa Ozamis nung nakasabay ko sya sa eroplano,” he said.
Vice Ganda further shared that he was not endorsing any politician, the Marcoses included.
“Nagpunta ko dun para mang aliw ng mga taga Ozamis City. Di para magendorso ng kahit sinong pulitiko. Di ako endorser ng mga Marcos!”

Vice Ganda also shared the picture on his own account and said, “So dahil sa picture na to supporter na agad ako ni Imee?!”
He managed to make light of the situation, quipping, “Di pa pwedeng supporter ako nung mamang naka puti dun sa likod?! Lol!”

Vice Ganda also found it funny that his being all covered up was an issue.
“At tawang tawa ko sa bakit daw ako balot na balot???” he continued to say. “Seriously first time nyo bang nakakita ng naka-hoody at nakashades??? Di pwede??? May dress code ba sa Ozamis City???”
While the “It’s Showtime” host has since clarified that he was in Ozamiz to entertain its people, it’s known that Marcos—as per her social media accounts—was in Manabay as a guest of honor at Rep. Henry Oaminal’s state of the district address. /ra
