Andi Eigenmann couldn’t believe her role in “The Maid in London” would get noticed, let alone honored with a Best Actress award.

Eigenmann received the award during the annual Manhattan International Film Festival held last Oct. 23. In an interview with Push during the red-carpet event of horror film “All Souls Night,” Eigenmann said, “I’m in this industry because I’m really passionate about what I do. I don’t expect anything in return, but because I did get something like this, sobra po ako nagpapasalamat,”

“The Maid in London,” by Danni H. Ugali, also starred Matt Evans, Polo Ravales, Alexis Navarro and Joshua de Guzman. The story followed Margo (Eigenmann) and her friend Faye (Navarro) as they work as “TNT” maids in London. TNT or “tago ng tago” refers to illegal immigrants or workers without proper work permits, who risk deportation if discovered.

After the heavy drama of “The Maid in London,” Eigenmann shifts to a more sinister atmosphere with “All Souls Night,” which will open in cinemas today, Oct. 31.

Eigenmann described the new horror film as something out of the ordinary.

“With horror films, it’s normal that may scare factor siya talaga mapapasigaw tayo o magulat tayo because of the certain scenes na pinapanood natin, pero itong horror movie na ito it doesn’t really try so hard to do that,” said the actress.

“All Souls Night” was directed by Aloy Adlawan and Jules Katanyag under Viva Films. It also stars Yayo Aguila, Alan Paule and Lhian Gimeno.  Alfred Bayle /ra
