Ogie Alcasid spoke out on social media about his disappointment over the prevalent culture of online bashing.

The singer wrote in an Oct. 29 tweet that the negative culture is preventing people from sharing their opinions on various topics:

“Saloobin. Parang minsan Ang hirap maglabas ng pansariling saloobin sapagka’t marami ang nakaabang na bumatikos Kahit mas nakararami rin naman ang nakikisimpatya.ang hirap minsan. Magandang Gabi sa inyo. Peace.”

(Just my opinion. It feels like it’s so hard to share one’s opinion about something because there are too many people lying in wait to criticize. Although sympathizers still outnumber the bashers, it’s still hard sometimes. Good evening to you all. Peace.)

Alcasid’s post may be related to the recent attention wife Regine Velasquez got from bashers regarding her move to a new network. Haters criticized her decision as an act of disloyalty toward her previous network GMA, where she spent 20 years of her career.

Asia’s Songbird later uploaded an open letter addressed to her bashers on the same day as Alcasid’s tweet. The loving husband then noticed how well-loved his wife was in spite of the bashing. He left the comment, “You are loved sweetheart. Truly loved.”

Velasquez’s move to ABS-CBN was also criticized as being influenced by Alcasid, who is currently signed under Star Music. The singer also debunked this claim, insisting it was her choice to move.  /ra
