Ara Mina drops plans to run in 2019 elections, supports dad Chuck’s QC mayoral bid
After hemming and hawing for some time whether or not to run for public office, it appears Ara Mina has already made up her mind and come to a conclusion.
Mina took to social media on Oct. 18 to tell her fans that although she had a strong desire of become a public servant, running for public office in the 2019 elections would have to take the backseat.
In her Instagram post, Mina shared a picture of her with her dad, Chuck Mathay, who is running for Quezon City mayor. As per Mina, she asked for God’s sign to guide her in making her decision.
“For now, God wants me to be an obedient daughter, taking one step at a time,” she said. “I gave it a lot of thought and considered many things and although I really desire to be a public servant, I have decided not to run this coming election.”

Mina, on her end, vowed that she would continue to focus on her philanthropy—an undertaking that she has been involved in for many years.
“…I [will] continue to be engaged in helping people and doing charities, since this has been a very meaningful part of my life over the years.” /ra
