Ejay Falcon’s time in the Korean drama “Where Stars Land” (“Fox Bride Star”) left the actor impressed and wanting for more.
Falcon initially found the Korean style of production to be very strict about time, which he experienced firsthand from the moment he landed in Korea.
“Nung una nangangapa ako, kasi pagka-land ko, pagdating ko doon ng mga four in the morning, sabi ko, ‘Pwede po bang mag-hotel para maligo?’ Wala raw kasi 6AM calltime ko, kailangan na akong kunan,” recalled the actor during a press interview on Oct. 10 as reported by Push.
(At first I was trying to get a feel for things, and just after I landed at 4 in the morning I asked, ‘Can I go to the hotel to take a bath.’ They said no because my call time was 6 a.m. and they had to shoot my scene by then.)
Fortunately for Falcon, his character for that particular episode of the K-drama was depressed, so his ripe, just-got-off-the-plane look was coincidentally perfect.
“So walang ligo, wala lahat. So sabi ko, sige gawin ko na. Buti na lang ‘yung role ko, depressed, hindi kagwapuhan, so sumakto siya, lapot-lapot,” Falcon said jokingly.
(So I couldn’t bathe, nothing. I told myself, ‘I’ll just do it.’ It’s a good thing my role was depressed, not too good looking, so the circumstances fit.)
After the rushed first impression, he was hooked. Falcon was so impressed with how different a Korean show was produced that he asked if there were any other roles he could audition for. He also found the work ethic of the production crew to his liking.
Before Falcon flew to Korea, he said he did some research on how Korean dramas were made. Apart from overcoming the language barrier, the actor said he also had to make a lot of adjustments.
“Talagang nag-aral muna ako and kaunting research about K-dramas (I really studied first and did some research about K-dramas),” said Falcon.
As it turned out, Falcon’s efforts and that of partner Lauren Young paid off. K-drama fans took to Twitter and sang praises for a stellar performance of the first two Filipino actors to appear in a Korean show. Big sister and former Miss World title holder Megan Young also couldn’t contain her happiness for her little sister Lauren’s success.

Falcon played as Ian, the husband of overseas worker Lauren’s character Mari. Ian faked his passport to get into Korea and see his newborn child. However, he was found out and caused a huge commotion at the airport when he tried to make a run for it.
