JoshLia on PDA: ‘We are not faking it’

One thing that’s noticeable about Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto – apart from their good performance in acting – is their sweet public display of affection (PDA).

On or off screen, the two are just simply inseparable. They earlier said that special feelings for each other had added more elements of natural sweetness that looked more tasteful in their scenes. However, JoshLia has made it clear that their PDA is absolutely instinctive and nothing about it is for show.

“Maganda sa samahan namin ni Joshua or sa trabaho namin hindi kami gumagawa ng bagay para sa mga tao. Ginagawa namin dahil nanggagaling sa puso. Hindi kami nagpe-peke-pekean dahil may gusto kaming patunayan sa tao. Totoong nararamdaman ‘yun,” she said at the grand press launch of the upcoming drama “Ngayon at Kailanman” which she top-bills with Garcia.

Even their “Ngayon at Kailanman co-stars agree that JoshLia’s PDA is genuine and that they inspire other couples to be equally sweet as well. One particular actress who loves watching them is ‘90s bombshell Ina Raymundo.

“Yung PDA nila tamang-tama lang, nakaka-good vibes. Nung pag-uwi ko, nagpa-pa-cute ako sa asawa ko, kaya ‘yung asawa ko nagtataka sa’kin bakit fi-ni-flirt ko siya. I’m not joking naiinggit ako sa kanila kaya may magic ang JoshLia. What you see is what you get. Sweet sila ‘pag nagtatampuhan sila, nakakatuwa, naaliw akong panoorin sila,” said Raymundo.

“Ngayon at Kailanman” is an ode to classic Filipino teleseryes about star-crossed lovers who must fight the odds to be together. Garcia is Inno, an heir of the powerful Cortes clan, and Barretto is Eva, a streetwise girl who grew up in the slums.

This much-awaited JoshLia starrer is set to make television debut starting August 20. /cbb
