LOOK: Angel Locsin becomes real-life Darna to flood victims in Rizal, Marikina
The rainy weather may be perfect for some to drink a cup of hot chocolate and cuddle in — but not for Angel Locsin. The former “Darna” actress became a real-life superhero after she withstood the harsh rains and heavy floods yesterday to help the flood victims in Montalban, Rizal and Malanday, Marikina.
“For those who are thinking of giving hot meals and other essentials, last night, may (there are) estimated 500 evacuees sa (at) Kasiglahan Village Senior High School Montalban, Rizal,” wrote Locsin in a post she shared via Twitter yesterday, Aug. 12. “I don’t have the total headcount kasi medyo magulo pa (because it was still a little bit chaotic) last night… but you could check and see for yourself.”

In a separate Tweet, she gave advice on the route volunteers should take should they want to follow in her footsteps: “We avoided flooded areas by passing [through] Commonwealth Litex. This route is recommended if you are planning to visit Burgos Elementary school evacuation center rin (as well). Thank you and stay safe!”

Locsin only told fans that she went to Rizal. However, some of the flood victims she helped in Marikina yesterday posted photos and videos of her distributing food and water in evacuation centers.
Article continues after this advertisement“Maraming salamat Ms. Angel Locsin sa pagbisita sa mga kababayan naming nasalanta ng baha (Thank you very much Ms. Angel Locsin for visiting our fellow citizens who were affected by the flood),” captioned one Joshua Jacinto on Facebook yesterday. He shared photos of Locsin giving out food and drinks at the Iglesia Filipina Independiente church in Malanday.

Another netizen, Ailene Nicdao Catacutan, also posted photos of the actress in the said church.
She expressed her gratitude to the actress who she described as “an angel sent from above”: “Thank You Ms. Angel Locsin for giving relief goods to the evacuees of Barangay Malanday Marikina. Truly your smile, your generosity, your visit put a huge smile to the tired souls and faces of Marikeños in times like this. Truly you are an Angel sent from above! Kudos to what you do. God Bless You Indeed!”
