Marian Rivera, Iza Calzado, Aga Muhlach mark birthdays on same day

Three Leos of Philippine showbiz marked their birthdays on the same day on Aug. 12. Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera turned 34, whereas Gawad Urian-awardee Iza Calzado turned 36. The dashing Aga Muhlach, meanwhile, is now 49 despite looking much younger than his age.
The birthday celebrations of the three were spent in the company of family and friends. Rivera’s husband Dingdong Dantes, for one, treated his wife to a stay at Solaire Resort & Casino in Parañaque where he surprised her and baby Zia in the morning with a bouquet of flowers.
“This is where we spent our first night together as husband and wife,” shared Dantes on his Instagram post last Aug. 11. “But today, on her very special day, we don’t mind having some company! #KaarawanNiMarian.”

In his short video clip, Dantes captured his entering the hotel room with the lights off. The curtains then slowly parted, revealing a room decked with flowers and white and pink balloons. Rivera and baby Zia, meanwhile, were lying down on the bed.

Calzado, on the other hand, spent her birthday with an intimate gathering at home. In her Instagram Stories on Aug. 12, Calzado shared a clip of fiancé Ben Wintle acting as if he was belting out a birthday song for her while holding her cake. But in actuality, it was Sponge Cola vocalist Yael Yuzon in the background who was behind Wintle’s singing voice.

In the midst of his act, Wintle accidentally blew out the candle of the cake.

In another Instagram Story, Calzado shared a clip of her making a wish and blowing another cake.
“Best gift is the love from family and friends!” Calzado wrote. “I am so blessed to have all of you in my life!”

Just how many cakes Calzado had remains unknown, but it seems two weren’t enough, as she shared a picture of a different cake in another Story, this time a classic Brazo de Mercedes.
For Calzado, eating the cake was the “best way to end my birthday! Frozen Brazo forever!!!”

In a later update on Instagram Stories, she wrote that her heart is filled with so much joy, expressing her gratitude to all who greeted her for her 36th.
“Trying to respond to all especially those that sent personal messages,” wrote Calzado. “Please know that I am so grateful to all of you and that my life is amazing because of the love from each and every one of you. Mabuhay (Hooray)!”

As for Muhlach, he received a birthday cake from wife Charlene Gonzales and twins Atasha and Andres.

Gonzales, too, took to her Instagram last Aug. 11 to write a short, but sweet birthday message to her husband of 17 years.
“Happy Birthday my love…Your love and kindness [radiate] and we are truly blessed to have you in our lives,” wrote Gonzales. “Here’s to another amazing year ahead for you!!! We are proud of you and love you with all our heart!”
