“Yu Yu Hakusho,” the manga by “Hunter x Hunter” creator Yoshihiro Togashi, debuted in 1990 and was serialized until 1994 on Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump. It was later adopted as an anime in 1992 by Studio Pierrot and ran until 1994. The English-language version renamed the title to “Ghost Fighter,” which eventually made its way to the Philippines in Tagalog-dubbed format during the mid 1990s. It proved popular to Filipinos, prompting a rerun in 1999. Its fandom has continued to be strong up to this day.  Alfred Bayle /ra
