Herbert Bautista on Kris Aquino: ‘We have mutual respect’

Now he speaks.
For Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista, he and Queen of all Media Kris Aquino are good friends. He was dearly thankful for the lessons and experiences both he and Aquino learned from each other. As for him more than anything, they have “mutual respect.”
“Maraming salamat sa kanya dahil yung maikling panahon ay marami kaming natutunan sa isa’t-isa. Yung panahon na yun para sa kanya was a low period in her life dahil natapos yung term ng kuya tapos nawala yung kontrata niya sa ABS-CBN. Kami yung nag-te-textan noh. Meron kaming friendship na hindi maintindihan. We got friends based on mutual respect,” Bautista said at the launch of his biography book “Life In Full Color (The Herbert Bautista Biography)” Friday.
He’s also happy that the actress has bounced back into limelight on her own. He also congratulated her on her upcoming film “I Love You Hater,” which is her comeback movie with Star Cinema.
“Sinasabi niya she’s moving on, and I’m happy for her dahil nakabalik siya eh on her own two feet without the backing of the brother or anything else… Congratulations to her and good luck sa kanyang pelikula,” he said.
In Aquino’s past interviews, she has been quoted to have said that while she’s thankful for her multiple endorsements, she, at one point, was ready to give it all up in the name of love. With this, the mayor was just too thankful to the point of being astounded that Aquino was willing to go that far.
“I’m so very thankful dahil dun sa sinabi niya na yun. Siyempre nakakabigla yun. Malaking bagay yun sa kanya kasi pinaghirapan niya yan eh. I’m really very thankful because of that remark. It’s a good gesture that’s why ang pinanggagalingan namin pareho is mutual respect,” he said.
Moreover, the mayor clafified what for him is the status of his “relationship” with Aquino.
“‘Di kayo mag boyfriend / girlfriend, di rin kayo magbarkada lang, kaya ang sinabi ko is mutual respect medyo mataas na uri ng pagkakaibigan,” he said.
He also denied rumors that he is not proud of Aquino.
Lastly, Bautista said he would definitely show up at the premiere night for Aquino’s movie given that he is invited and his availability. He is also willing to do a movie with Aquino “basta maganda ang script.” /jpv
