WATCH: ‘Your Name.’ animation studio makes new feature film for Netflix

The animation studio behind hit anime film “Your Name.” has teamed up with Netflix for a new project, which is set to premiere early next month.

Animation studio CoMix Wave Films and Netflix’s “Flavors of Youth” has Yoshitaka Takeuchi, who worked on Makoto Shinkai’s “Your Name.” and “5 Centimeters Per Second,” as the director of the film, while Noritaka Kawaguchi, who worked with Takeuchi and Shinkai, is the producer, according to a statement.

“Flavors of Youth” is a story told in three chapters, set in three different cities in China. The story centers around the fond memories of the main characters while accentuating the timeless effect that memories have on people’s lives.

FEATURED STORIES

The feature film will premiere at the Los Angeles Anime Expo on July 6. Takeuchi and Kawaguchi will be present for the screening and will hold a Q&A session afterwards. Those who attend will also get a limited Anime Expo badge.
