Kiko Estrada on protecting the family name and why he can’t get drunk in public
With a prominent name comes certain responsibilities.“Walwal” movie actor Kiko Estrada could attest that.
His upcoming movie, “Walwal,” is a youth-oriented film that tackles issues of cliques and friendships. It also delves into the teenage lifestyle that usually involves drinking and partying, hence, the term “walwal.”
The 23-year-old actor admits that he does drink and party like any other teenager and he has experienced getting drunk.
“Of course, I mean everyone has [experienced it]. I’ve been drunk so many times,” he told a few members of the entertainment press who visited the set of “Walwal” on its last shooting day on Tuesday.
“But the good thing about me getting drunk is that my family is very protective [of me] if I get drunk. I’m normally at the house. And if ever I’m at a bar and I get drunk, I would sure have 10 bouncers to take care of me just to be safe,” he added.

“Mostly when I get drunk I can’t remember anything. The most interesting that happened was I woke up the next day and I don’t know where I was inside my car and I was like where am I?” he said.
Kiko is the son of actress Chesca Diaz and former ‘90s matinee idol Gary Estrada.
Directed by Jose Javier Reyes, “Walwal” is hitting theaters starting June 27. /ee
