Jolina Magdangal gave birth to her second child, baby Vika, via c-section last Monday, May 28. Prior to her delivery, Magdangal expressed her worries and concerns that her firstborn Pele might feel neglected or jealous. It seems, however, that Magdangal’s fears were for naught as her recent pictures on social media show that things are going well for the tight-knit family of four.
Magdangal and her baby Vika were finally discharged from the Asian Hospital and Medical Center in Alabang, Muntinlupa, as per her Instagram update last June 1.
“Discharge na kami today!!” Magdangal announced. “Simula na ng totoong bagong chapter ng aming buhay pamilya. Ang saya!!”
(We’ve been discharged today! It’s now the start of a truly new chapter in our family life. What a joy!)
Magdangal has since been keeping her fans in the loop of goings-on at home. Often, she would share pictures of her husband Mark Escueta of the Rivermaya band and son Pele cuddling baby Vika.
In one such picture posted last June 2, Magdangal said that even before she and Escueta married, the picture of a happy family was what she already envisioned in her mind.
“Bago pa ako ikasal, ito na ang picture na pinapangarap ko ng isang masayang pamilya,” she said, adding that she wasn’t able to join since her stitches still hurt. “Di pa ako makasama sa pag akap kasi ang sakit ng tahi. Happy Sunday everyone. Love your family.”
(Even before I got married, this is already the picture of a happy family I’ve been dreaming of. I still could not join in hugging because my stitches still hurt. Happy Sunday everyone. Love your family.)
Baby Vika had her first check up last June 4, too, which was also the first time Magdangal was able to go out of the room since they were discharged from the hospital last week.
“Medyo mabagal pa ako lumakad pero kinakaya kong bilisan ang recovery para matulungan ko si Mark mag asikaso kay Vika. Si Pele naman ay tuwang tuwa sa kapatid nya,” said Magdangal.
(I’m still walking slowly but I’m doing my best to speed up my recovery so I can help Mark in taking care of Vika. Pele is so happy about his sister.)
Magdangal added that she missed her obstetrician, and told fellow mothers that it’s essential to have a good relationship with their obstetrician and pediatrician.
“Excited din ako makita ulit yung OB ko na si Dra. Florendo. Namiss ko sya. Alam nyo, importante din na maging close kayo ng OB nyo at Pedia dahil dapat talaga malaki ang tiwala natin sa kanila,” Magdangal advised.
(I’m also excited to see my OB Dra. Florendo again. I miss her. You know, it’s important to be close to your OB and pediatrician because we should trust them greatly.) JB
