Touring a city usually means visiting iconic sites and immersing one’s self in the local culture. For Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo, the best of Italy is in their tastebuds, as they eat and cook all the good food native to the region such as pizzas and gelato.
Their pictures and videos on social media show them going to markets for ingredients and whipping up sumptuous meals. Santos’ most recent update shows her and Agoncillo taking a cooking class together.
When in Rome, the “Ang Dalawang Mrs. Reyes” star was also able to fulfill one of her dreams while visiting the nearby Vatican City.
“Isa sa mga pangarap ko, ang mapaglutuan ang mga madre na inaalagaan ako sa dasal at pagmamahal,” the actress shared on Instagram. “Hindi ko naman naisip na sa loob ko pa ng Vatican ito magagawa.”
(One of my dreams is to cook for the nuns who care for me with their prayers and love. I never thought that it would be inside the Vatican.)
She and Agoncillo prepared a sumptuous spread for the Filipino nuns and Fr. Mario S. Sobrejuanite, a Filipino priest known for his televised masses.
The meals included pasta with shrimp, salad with berries, and savory meat and fish dishes.
And of course, there’s dessert: leche flan.
“Napakasaya ng puso ko, ang sarap pakinggan nila sister matuwa at masiyahan sa niluto naming dinner para sa kanila,” gushed Santos.
(My heart was full of happiness; it was so good to hear the sisters laugh and enjoy the dinner we made for them.)
She also credited her helpful husband “for making it even more special.”
“Hindi ‘to pwedeng matapatan ng kahit anong outlet shops (No outlet shops can top this)!” she added.
No doubt that the feast was one for the stomach and the soul. JB
