WATCH: Ogie Alcasid gatecrashes wedding, serenades couple with a love song
It’s not everyday when a celebrity gatecrashes your wedding and serenades you with a love song, but for newlyweds Ryan Lucila and Noureen Ojastro, this may just tick one of the boxes in their “Craziest Things That Happened in 2018” list — especially when it’s artist Ogie Alcasid who walked through the doors uninvited, with comical flair.
The surprise was concocted by no other than Ian Celis, the wedding and sports videographer-photographer whose team was assigned to shoot Lucila and Ojastro’s wedding in Silang, Cavite two days ago, March 12. He also manages Ian Celis Productions.
Last night, Celis took to the official Facebook page of “Ian Celis Productions” to share the plan he’s been brewing all along, as well as the video of the entire surprise.
“I made Ogie Alcasid gatecrash the wedding that our team was shooting last night at Silang, Cavite!” wrote Celis. “ We agreed that he’ll sing one of his singles from his latest album which is the song that I’ll be using for the same day edit video as well.”
In the video, Alcasid can be seen standing outside of the venue, wearing a grey suit. “Hey guys,” he says while smiling at the camera. “It’s me. Feeling ko gusto ko mag crash ng wedding. Samahan niyo ko ha. Let’s try this.” (It’s me. I feel like gatecrashing a wedding. Join me, okay? Let’s try this.)

Magandang gabi po.” (Hello, good evening to everyone. Hello, and please excuse me, because I’m really inexcusable. Good evening.)

“Eh napadaan lang ako eh. Eh gusto ko sana mag crash lang ng wedding. Pwede bang kantahan ko kayo, okay lang ba yon? Okay lang sa inyo?” Alcasid asked. (I just happened to pass by. I just felt like crashing a wedding. May I sing you a song? Is that okay? Would you be okay with that?)
Lucila, the groom, seemed to still be in disbelief, as he asked, “Nagulat ako sir, this is happening right, totoo to?” (I’m shocked, sir. This is happening, right? Is this for real?)
“This is happening sir, this is happening!” Alcasid quipped. “Kakantahan ko po kayo ha. Ito po yung siguro makapagpapa-alala sa inyo nung una kayong umibig sa isa’t isa. Music please.” (I will sing you a song, okay? Maybe this will remind you of that moment when you two first fell in love with each other. Music please.)
Alcasid sang his composition “Ikaw ang Tanging Pag-Ibig Ko”, which is part of the TV series “La Luna Sangre” soundtrack.
After Alcasid finished his song and was met with applause, he extended his congratulations to the married couple and gave them his best wishes and blessing. In the end of the video, Alcasid can be seen walking out of the venue. With a funny face, he wondered, “Di ko alam kung na excite sila or nagulat. Ang sarap pala ng feeling ng ganun ano, nakapagpapasaya ka.” (I don’t know if they were excited or shocked. But that felt really good — making people happy.)
Alcasid need not wonder, however. His surprise appearance was well-received and loved by the guests, and was met, too, with tears from the bride. Congratulations to the newlyweds! JB
