The sixth and final season of Netflix’s hit political drama “House of Cards” places the character of Claire Underwood, played by actress Robin Wright, on the president’s chair.
Wright’s Claire Underwood will be taking over the lead role for the series, after its original star Kevin Spacey, who played scheming politician Frank Underwood, was taken off the show following sexual harassment allegations.
A video teaser released for the last season shows Claire standing up from the seat, declaring, “We’re just getting started.” The statement could be setting the show’s tone, as to how she could rule differently from her husband Frank; or it could also be a hint on possible spin-offs once “House of Cards” ends.
Either way, fans of the show may be in for a treat with a woman now calling the shots in the Oval Office. JB
