“With brilliant cast and creator of exceptional little show opening in London called Hamilton. You won’t have heard of it but I think it could be big,” quipped Merchant when he met the London cast.
In the historically based play, Go and Allado play the Schuyler sisters.
Go is Eliza, wife of US founding father Alexander Hamilton. Allado plays two roles: Peggy Schuyler and Maria Reynolds, with whom Hamilton has an affair. British actress Rachel John plays Angelica.
The musical, created by thespian and playwright Lin-Manuel Miranda, features hip-hop and rap elements in its songs with a racially diverse cast.
The West End version began in December and will run until June 2018.
