Hit Broadway musical “Hamilton: An American Musical” has kicked off its West End shows with Filipinos Rachelle Ann Go and Christine Allado in the stellar cast.
Among the musical’s fans were Hollywood actors Emma Stone and Jon Hamm who met the London cast.
“I adore her so much!!! Thank you for coming to see ‘Hamilton’ West End,” wrote Go in her picture with the “La La Land” actress.
“Mad Men” star Jon Hamm and “Logan” actor Stephen Merchant also showed their support for the show.
“With brilliant cast and creator of exceptional little show opening in London called Hamilton. You won’t have heard of it but I think it could be big,” quipped Merchant when he met the London cast.
In the historically based play, Go and Allado play the Schuyler sisters.
Go is Eliza, wife of US founding father Alexander Hamilton. Allado plays two roles: Peggy Schuyler and Maria Reynolds, with whom Hamilton has an affair. British actress Rachel John plays Angelica.
The musical, created by thespian and playwright Lin-Manuel Miranda, features hip-hop and rap elements in its songs with a racially diverse cast.
