Fresh from the blockbuster success of “Seven Sundays”, Star Cinema got another hit courtesy of its Halloween movie offering “The Ghost Bride”.
Top-billed by Kapamilya actress Kim Chiu, the movie obviously captured a wide range of audiences, as it earned a a whopping P14.3 million on its first day.
The movie officially opened yesterday.
In past interviews, Chiu shared that she is more than nervous to carry a movie all by herself. She said she was not sure if the movie would be appreciated by audiences. She was therefore surprised upon learning about the multimillion sales of the movie on its first day alone.
She thanked her director, Chito Roño, Star Cinema, and her fans for trooping to the theaters on the first day.
Meanwhile, Rońo also directed the box-office horror hits of actress-TV host Kris Aquino, such as the “Feng Shui” movies in 2004 and 2014, and “Sukob” in 2006.
Starring Alice Dixon, Matteo Guidicelli, Kakai Bautista, Christian Bables and Ina Raymundo, “The Ghost Bride” is now showing in cinemas nationwide. JB
