Comedian Boobay was overwhelmed by best friend Marian Rivera’s early birthday surprise for him.
Boobay’s birthday won’t be until Nov. 7 but Rivera’s gift came a week earlier.
In a series of Instagram posts, Boobay shared the happy moments from the early birthday surprise staged by Rivera. He then thanked the actress with a heartfelt message:
“maraming maraming salamat sa pagmamahal na lage mong ipinapadama, basta pangako ipaglalaban kita kahit kailan .. hmmmm , pigil na pigil luha ko kagabi kasi ayoko makakita ka ng umiiyak na baklang crab hihihi i love you Loves @marianrivera, maraming salamat talaga!!!” Boobay wrote.
(Thank you so much for the love that you always make me feel. I promise to fight for you always. I was holding back my tears last night because I don’t want you to see a crying gay crab. I love you, my love, @marianrivera, thank you, really.)
In another post, Boobay uploaded a video where he was being serenaded with a happy birthday song by his crew. In his post, he tagged Rivera, her husband Kapuso primetime king Dingdong Dantes, events planner Teena Barretto and a certain @joylynsantos. He expressed his love and gratitude for his friends.
Boobay and Rivera’s friendship first bloomed when they both hosted the now-defunct adventure show “Extra Challenge” alongside former Kapuso actor Richard Gutierrez. Their closeness further solidified as the years went by, until they were able to work together again through Rivera’s talk show “‘Yan Ang Morning”.
Late last year, Boobay was rushed to the hospital after suffering from a stroke. Rivera assisted in paying for her friend’s hospital bills. JB
