Irish rockers U2 dropped a new song, ahead of their upcoming album “Song of Experience”, a follow up to their 2014 album “Songs of Innocence”.

The tune dubbed “The Blackout” appears to have been recorded live, was shared via the band’s official Facebook page, with the message: “‘The Blackout’, just for you. From upcoming album Songs of Experience…In the darkness where we learn to see”, and comes with a five-minute, black-and-white video which shows the members singing on stage.

U2 also made it clear that the teaser of their forthcoming album, however, is not intended to be the lead single, with the official first single from “Song of Experience” to be titled “You’re The Best Thing About Me”, and slated for debut on September 6.

The full record, which was delayed due to Donald Trump’s election according to guitarist The Edge, is now expected to drop on December 1 this year, reports Billboard. JB
