Global pop star Olivia Rodrigo surprised Filipino actress Marian Rivera’s daughter, Zia, with a beautiful birthday gift.
Rivera recently took to social media to share a photo of Rodrigo’s gift to her daughter, which was a Guts World Tour merchandise box that included a letter, a T-shirt, and a Tumbler.
“Thank you so much, Olivia Rodrigo! Ate Z is so happy with your gift. No wonder so many people admire and love you. Zia loves you so much!” the actress captioned her post.
In the video Rivera posted, her daughter was captured beaming with happiness and on the verge of tears of joy as she unwrapped the gift from the pop star.
Zia was seen going back and forth as she could not contain her happiness. She was seen hugging and thanking her mother for the surprise.
“I love you so much,” said Zia to the camera as a response of gratitude to Rodrigo.
For her 9th birthday, Zia transformed into a pop star as a nod to her idol, which was the “driver’s license.” singer.
Last month, Rodrigo held her GUTS tour in the Philippines. At the time, Rivera accompanied her daughter to the concert and posted a video where the American singer appeared to be waving back at Zia, which made her say to her mother that Olivia “said hi” to her.
In an interview, Rivera shared that she wants her daughter to experience the realities and joys of being a fangirl.
“Never siyang nagreklamo na ‘mom we’re so far! Ang ginawa niya, tumingin siya sa likod niya at nagpa-alam pa siya, ‘Can I stand up?’ Sabi nila, ‘Of course!’ Tuwang-tuwa siya,” the actress shared at the time. “Maganda yung realidad na ma-experience ni Zia. Bumili kami ng ticket at manood tayo.”
(She never complained that ‘mom we’re so far! What she did was look behind her and ask, ‘Can I stand up?’ They said, ‘Of course!’ She was very happy. The reality that Zia can experience is beautiful. Let’s buy a ticket and watch.)
“Hindi ako makapanood kasi aliw na aliw ako sa anak ko. Navi-video ako sa anak ko. Hindi na ako masyadong nakapanood. Memorize niyang lahat ang songs in Olivia, as in,” she added.
(I can’t watch because I’m so happy watching my daughter. I’m capturing her. I haven’t watched much. She memorized all the songs of Olivia, as in.)
