Pokwang surprised the public after she revealed that she is already a grandmother to Gabriel, the four-year-old son of her daughter Mae.
The actress-comedian spoke about this in a “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” interview aired on Wednesday, Dec. 25, after she was asked what her love advice to Mae would be.
Pokwang first told Mae to take good care of her heart, then proceeded to ask the latter if it would be okay to reveal something about her. Mae answered affirmatively.
“May apo na ako, four years old. I’m a lola and it’s another blessing,” Pokwang said, as her voice broke from crying. “I have a four year old na super, super cute.”
“Another blessing ng buhay ko. Another reason na ipagdasal ko ‘yung sarili ko na humaba pa ‘yung buhay ko para makita ko ‘yung paglaki niya… I’m a proud lola,” she continued.
Pokwang said Mae got pregnant during the pandemic, when the latter was supposed to work in New York. The celebrity mom also underscored that she never got angry at Mae, instead she was ecstatic over knowing about her daughter’s pregnancy.
Pokwang then disclosed how it was her previous ex who wanted to kick Mae out of the house. While the mother and daughter did not name names, it can be noted that Pokwang was previously in a relationship with American actor Lee O’Brian, who is also the father of the comedian’s youngest daughter Malia.
“Gusto akong palayasin ng ex niya sa house because I got pregnant without getting married. He wanted me out of the house, and I don’t know why,” Mae said. “Tsaka between me and him, parang mas ako ‘yung may karapatan na nasa bahay, hindi siya kung tutuusin.”
Meanwhile, Mae said that she and her partner plan to get married sometime in the future as their child is their priority at the moment.
