Jake Zyrus’ mom Raquel Pempengco tells her kids to just forget her, asks forgiveness

Controversial singer Jake Zyrus’ mom Raquel Pempengco continues to lash out on social media over what she claims as “lies”, depicted in the singer’s life story as narrated in the long-running drama anthology “Maalaala Mo Kaya”. Now, she is asking her children to just forget about her as their mother.
In a series of Facebook posts yesterday, the fiery mom expressed her hope for Zyrus: “sa paglalabas mo ng mga sama ng loob mo in public natl tv eh magiging maluwag na sa dibdib mo ang lahat lahat.”
([I hope] your revelation via national television would relieve your heart of everything you carry.)
She then apologized for what her daughter felt while growing up, but asserted one point: “Patawarin mo ako kung yun ang naramdaman mo. Pero isa lang ang totoo para sa akin. Ang maghangad kung ano ang ikabubuti nyo.”
(Forgive me if that’s what you felt. But only one thing is true for me. To only wish what’s best for you.)
Although still declaring love for her kids, the last part of her post carried somewhat of a parting statement: “Pero kung dahil sa akin eh naliligaw kau isa lang pakiusap ko, kalimutan nio na naging ina ninyo ako…patawad. mahal na mahal ko kayong magkapatid”
(But if you’ve lost your way in life because of me, then I ask that you just forget that I have been your mother. Please forgive me. I love you both so much.)

In another post, the emotional mom expressed that while everything may pass, the pain she feels will remain in her heart and mind.
Last Saturday, Jake Zyrus’ painful life story was told on MMK. In the said episode, young Charice was portrayed to be emotionally and physically abused by her mom, Raquel, played by veteran actress Dina Bonnevie.
Charice’s sexual preference had been a major issue not only with her fans but all the more with her family. Her mom did not approve of her being a lesbian, straining their relationship. JB
