Robert Pattinson nearly bid adieu from “Twilight,” the flick that made him popular among teens all over the world.

The 31-year-old heartthrob told the New York Times that because of his disobedience and unruly behavior, he was almost kicked out in 2008 from the project, in which he played the role of a delinquent vampire, Edward Cullen.

“I didn’t have to kiss anybody’s [butt] the entire time. I don’t think I did, anyway,” he explained.

Luckily, Pattinson’s agents intervened and flew to talk to the actor and the producers of “Twilight.” He went on to lead the film’s four other sequels with Kristen Stewart, whom he previously dated.

In a 2012 interview with Yahoo! Movies, Pattinson admitted that he took his role so seriously that he channeled his wayward character off-cam. “I was fighting with everybody in control all the time…to the point where I almost got fired,” he said back then.

Nevertheless, he described his entire “Twilight” stint as an “amazing luxury” and “amazing luck.” “I think one of the best things, basically, about being a bit of a sellout,” he told the New York Times, is “if you’ve done five movies in a series, you’ve had to accept some responsibility for playing the same character.”  Gianna Francesca Catolico /ra
