WATCH: ‘Himouto! Umaru-chan’ TV anime season 2 to air soon
Everyone’s favorite bratty little sister is set to come back when the second season of “Himouto! Umaru-chan” TV anime airs this fall.
The announcement was first made on this year’s 20th issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump magazine. It was also announced during the live streaming “DaraNama Returns” program. The anime’s official website also uploaded the visual for the upcoming show’s second season, reports Anime News Network.
Members of the main staff from the show’s first season will be returning as well as the cast. This includes anime Studio Doga Kobo, director Masahiko Ohta, script supervisor Takashi Aoshima, and character designer Aya Takano.
The cast is comprised of Aimi Tanaka and Kenji Nojima who play Umaru Doma and Taihei Doma respectively, Akari Kageyama as Nana Ebina, Haruka Shiraishi as Kirie Motoba, and Yurina Furukawa as Sylphynford Tachibana.
“Himouto! Umaru-chan” was inspired by a manga of the same title. Its story revolves around Taihei Doma and his little sister Umaru. On the outside, Umaru is the very image of perfection – beautiful, smart and athletic. However at home, she is far from what can be considered an ideal girl.
The word himouto is slang that refers to a woman who is prim and proper in public but lazy and unkempt at home. It is also a pun for himono (dried fish) and imouto (little sister). Alfred Bayle/JB
