New Spider-Man film to focus on female heroines Black Cat, Silver Sable

A new film is in the works that will center on two female characters in the Spider-Man universe: Silver Sable and Black Cat.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the spin-off will be penned by screenwriter Chris Yost, whose credits include the upcoming Marvel film “Thor: Ragnarok” and the animated series for “Wolverine” and “X-Men”.
In the comic series, Black Cat is an acrobatic cat burglar who has a complicated romantic history with Spider-Man.
Silver Sable is less well-known as a mercenary whose company hunts war criminals.
It’s the latest Spider-Man film coming from Sony. “Spider-Man: Homecoming” bows this summer, while “Venom” will be out by October 2018. JB
