Grammy Award-winning singer Ed Sheeran will make a cameo appearance in the fictional world of Westeros, as confirmed by showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss.
During the Southwest Film Festival in Austin, Texas, over the weekend, Benioff shared that Maisie Williams (who plays Arya Stark in the show) is the main reason they decided to cast the 26-year-old pop star.
“We knew that Maisie was a big fan of Ed Sheeran,” he said, as relayed by US Weekly. “So for years we tried to get Ed on the show so we could surprise Maisie, and we finally did it.”
