Poe wishes Mocha Uson well on MTRCB appointment

“I wish her well,” Senator Grace Poe said of Mocha Uson’s appointment to the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB).

Poe, former MTRCB head, noted that Uson’s appointment to the agency was the “President’s prerogative.”

“The MTRCB board should be representation of a cross section of society. The board thrives on diversity but with a common goal of promoting intelligent media viewership and providing the right classification to enable parents to properly guide their children’s viewing habits,” she said in a text message when sought for comment.

Uson, a staunch supporter of President Rodrigo Duterte, was appointed to the MTRCB last January 3.

Senate Majority Leader Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, meanwhile, believes that Uson was a “good choice” for the job.

“She abounds with common sense and has a good pulse of the public. She will do a lot better than some people I know,” Sotto said in a separate text message. JE
