Amusingly, Carey said that she never knew Ariana Grande, the “Side To Side” songstress who was once compared to Carey for her ravishing vocals. She elucidated, “I don’t know when early in the career was… Honestly, I’m not familiar, I listen to hip-hop more than I listen to pop music.”

When asked about Demi Lovato, who previously said Carey was “mean” for dissing Jennifer Lopez, Carey responded, “I don’t know her either, and so I wouldn’t say anything to her.”

Asked to comment on Lovato’s statement, Carey barefacedly “shaded” her. “She should come up, introduce herself to me, say here’s my opinion, ‘What do you think about it?’ That’s how you handle s**t, okay?” she lashed.

Other hard-hitting topics were raised during the quick interview, including her “break-up settlement” with her ex-beau, Australian billionaire James Packer, and her flirtation with backup dancer Bryan Tanaka, which was sensationalized by paparazzi outlets two weeks ago.

Carey evaded Cohen’s questions by asking her fans to watch her upcoming series. “I want people to watch the show…because when something is real and is a beautiful thing, some people just trash it,” she said.  Gianna Francesca Catolico
