Netflix has released the much-awaited trailer for outgoing US President Barack Obama’s biopic film “Barry.”

The film, directed by Vikram Gandhi, is set in 1981 when a 20-year-old Obama transferred to New York’s Columbia University, where he studied college. As he matured and adapted himself to a lawless and cosmopolitan environment, Obama made friends with students from different walks of life, experienced being beaten, dated a white lady whom he had met in a bar and, most of all, aced his academic subjects. Also, he strained his relationships with his mother, estranged Kenyan father and close friends.

Australian newbie actor Devon Terrell portrays the role of the 44th American President while Anya Taylor-Joy plays his then-love interest, Charlotte.

“You a whole different type of brother,” a buddy tells him. “You do realize that, don’t you?”

“I fit in nowhere,” Obama casually responds.

Earlier this year, “Southside with You,”  a movie about Obama and his romance with First Lady Michelle Obama, generated positive reviews from movie critics.

“Barry,” which was premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, is set to be released on Dec. 16.  Gianna Francesca Catolico
