Amid war with ex-manager, Kesha records 22 songs for release

Despite life’s struggles and legal battles, Kesha is still determined to deliver enthralling music to her fans’ ears.

In a full-length interview with the New York Times Magazine, the pop singer, whose real name is Kesha Rose Sebert, detailed that she submitted 22 unheard hits to Sony in hopes of boosting her music career.

Some of the refreshing titles in Kesha’s upcoming album are “Hunt You Down,” “Learn to Let It Go,” “Rosé” and “Rainbow,” an emotional ballad she penned while on rehabilitation in 2014.

According to the article, a lot of music lovers should anticipate a Kesha album that’s full of soul and country vibes.

“But the song I want to tell you about most is Rainbow. If it ever emerges from private listenings, it will be your favorite Kesha song,” author Taffy Brodesser-Akner wrote about the track collaborated by Kesha and singer-songwriter Ben Folds. “It’s big and sweeping, and you can hear every instrument that [Folds] and his associates played—it does recall a Beach Boys vibe, just as she wanted it to.”

Moreover, Kesha, 29, even sang sample lyrics of “Rainbow”: “I found a rainbow, rainbow, baby. Trust me, I know life is scary, but just put those colors on, girl, and come and paint the world with me tonight.”

Kesha felt “relieved” that she could finally vent her true melody that’s chained to her for a long time. She said, “To this day, I’ve never released a single that’s a true ballad, and I feel like those are the songs that balance out the perception of you because you can be a fun girl.”

“You can go and have a crazy night out, but you also, as a human being, have vulnerable emotions. You have love,” she ended.

Nevertheless, Kesha’s former manager Dr. Luke belittled Kesha’s recent interview, slamming it as a “press campaign to mislead the public” and adding that the singer exiled herself from Dr. Luke’s Kemosabe Records, Billboard reported.

The “Tik Tok” hitmaker is currently ensnared in a legal quarrel with Dr. Luke, whom she accused of drugging and sexually assaulting her back in 2014. He countersued her for breach of contract and defamation moments after she filed a complaint.
